PTP Threatening Stance Exposes Violence Mindset, While FOCS Pushes for Peace

March 7, 2025: In a shocking display of hostility, the Paite Tuailai Pawl (PTP) has issued a direct threat against the Federation of Civil Society Organizations (FOCS) ahead of its proposed Peace Expedition on March 8.

The group’s statement, filled with violent rhetoric and warnings of bloodshed, not only exposes a deeply entrenched separatist mindset but also stands in stark contrast to the principles of dialogue and reconciliation that Manipur desperately needs.

Paite Tuailai Pawl’s statement, laden with references to historical conflicts, declares that any attempt to enter the so-called “Lamka, Zogam” (according to their version) will be met with force, invoking imagery of “detonating fuse-cord and an iron fist.”

Such inflammatory language is a blatant rejection of peace efforts and an open challenge to the rule of law. Instead of seeking dialogue, the group has chosen the path of intimidation, further deepening the divide between communities in Manipur.

On the other hand, FOCS, with a clear commitment to peace, has announced its Vehicle Peace Rally along NH-2, starting from the Kangla Northern Gate, Imphal, at 8:30 am.

The rally, intended to foster unity, aligns with Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent declaration to reopen NH-2, a crucial step towards restoring normalcy in the region.

Earlier, Amit Shah had warned that any attempts to disrupt this movement would face severe consequences.

The contrast between the two sides is glaring.

While Paite Tuailai Pawl clings to violent separatist rhetoric, FOCS is pushing for a future of peaceful coexistence.

The threats issued by Paite Tuailai Pawl should not be taken lightly, as they set a dangerous precedent of lawlessness and intolerance.

At a time when Manipur needs healing, calls for vengeance and bloodshed only serve to drag the state further into conflict.

It is imperative that the people of Manipur reject such divisive narratives and support initiatives like the FOCS Peace Rally.

True strength lies in unity and dialogue, not in threats and violence. The success of this rally will serve as a powerful statement against those who seek to hold Manipur hostage to fear and hatred.
