The Office of the District Information Officer, Churachandpur, has issued a public advisory ahead of the scheduled visit of a Very Very Important Person (VVIP) to the district on September 13, 2025, requesting residents’ cooperation and awareness regarding security and traffic arrangements.
According to the advisory, from September 12, parking along Tipaimukh Road and Tedim Road will be restricted, and certain roads will serve as cut-off points for private and heavy vehicles. Special parking arrangements have been made for invitees inside the Mini-Secretariat campus, while the public is encouraged to use designated parking areas, including ECA Diamond Jubilee Ground, DHQ Tuibong Playground, C. Munkot Playground, Sielmat Playground, Don Bosco School Ground, P.T. Sports Complex, Nghathal Football Ground, Headquarters Veng Football Ground, and Camp. Public transport facilities will be available from these points to the venue.
Residents are advised to avoid bringing children below 12 years and medically unfit persons to the event. Specific arrangements have been made for public crossings along the VVIP route at key junctions, including Bijang, KBC Church, Chapellane, IB Road, Red Cross Road, Chiengkon Bazar, Phallam Bazar, Phailien Bazaar, and Tipaimukh Road-Dorcas Road junction.
Vehicle movement on the VVIP route from STC-BSF to Peace Ground via Tipaimukh Road will be restricted during the arrival of the dignitary, with access allowed only for emergency medical services. On the day of the visit, public and vehicle movement will generally be restricted from 10:00 AM onwards. Schools and educational institutions have been advised to avoid dispersal or parking along the route on September 12 and 13 to prevent inconvenience to students.
Public seating at the venue will be open from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with entry restricted thereafter. Attendees are requested not to carry keys, pens, water bottles, bags, umbrellas, lighters, matches, cloth pieces, or any sharp objects or arms to the venue. Special public transport services are being arranged, and private vehicles must be parked only at designated locations. Escort vehicles for invitees arriving from the north will be stopped at the Khomoi/Bethel Inner Cut-Off Point, while those from the south will be parked at Lemchang Junction and Tuibong Filling Station. Special invitee vehicles will proceed directly to the VIP entrance and thereafter be parked inside the Mini-Secretariat complex.
The District Administration has urged all residents to cooperate fully to ensure the smooth conduct of the VVIP visit.
