Due to delays in reimbursement of claims and non-payment of dues under the PMJAY scheme, all private health institutes affiliated with the Association of Healthcare Providers of India (AHPI), Manipur Chapter, will be temporarily suspending the benefits under the scheme starting from 16th August 2025.
The decision was resolved on 30th July 2025 by the Association of Healthcare Providers of India (AHPI), Manipur Chapter. During the suspension period, treatments and services will be chargeable at standard institutional rates until all pending dues are cleared by the concerned government authorities.
According to a statement, many private hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centers, etc., have come under immense financial and operational stress due to the non-payment of dues.
PM-JAY is the largest health assurance scheme in the world, aiming to provide health cover of Rs. 5 lakhs per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization to over 12 crore poor and vulnerable families (approximately 55 crore beneficiaries) that form the bottom 40% of the Indian population.
