A fire erupted today afternoon in the New Bazar area of the Churachandpur district headquarters; several rooms of a one-storey building located along the Thangzam Bazaar road near the bus parking area have been gutted in the fire.
With the outbreak of the fire, the locals alerted the nearest fire station, and a firefighter team rushed to the spot to douse the fire, and efforts are being made now with locals to completely put it out and not to further affect other areas. The cause of the fire is still unknown, and the extent of the damage cannot be ascertained as of now.
