Rahul Gandhi Slams Modi for Ignoring Manipur Crisis, Pledges Support for Peace

March 29, 2025: In a recent meeting with Congress leaders from Manipur, Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi expressed deep concern over the ongoing crisis in the state, highlighting the government’s failure to address the violence that has plagued Manipur for nearly two years. Speaking in Parliament, Gandhi pointed out that despite the imposition of President’s Rule, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has yet to visit the state, a move he described as deeply troubling.

Gandhi emphasized that the people of Manipur deserve peace and stability, stressing that the entire nation is united in seeking a lasting solution to the conflict. He called for an urgent resolution, urging that the issue should be treated as a national priority.

Meanwhile, MPCC President K. Meghachandra took to social media to extend his gratitude to Gandhi for his unwavering support, particularly for his three visits to the state during the period of turmoil. Meghachandra contrasted Gandhi’s proactive leadership with Modi’s lack of engagement, reinforcing his belief that peace and normalcy in Manipur can only be achieved under Gandhi’s genuine and empathetic leadership.
