Offering prayers for peace and prosperity, along with celebrating the journey of faith, Manipur Governor A.K. Bhalla, Rajya Sabha MP Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba, Assembly Speaker Th. Satyabarta Singh, and MLA Y. Khemchand all visited the Shree Shree Govindaji Temple on the occasion of ‘Ratha Yatra’ Friday in Imphal.
Rajya Sabha MP Sanajaoba Leishemba, Speaker Th. Satyabarta Singh, and MLA Y. Khemchand led the worship at Govindaji Temple, where idols of Lord Jagannath, along with his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra, were taken from the temple to the ‘Kang’ (Chariot) for ‘Kang Chingba,’ the sacred ritualistic procession of the chariot.
In essence, the ‘Ratha Yatra’ in Manipur has now become a powerful expression of faith, devotion, and cultural unity, with deep spiritual significance for thousands in the state of Manipur. In various locales spread across the valley district, ‘Kang Chingba’ (Chariot Procession) can also be seen singing ‘kirtan.’
