RBI Observes Financial Literacy Week 2026 in Manipur with Focus on KYC Compliance

Financial Literacy Week 2026 is underway in Manipur from February 9 to 13, with this year’s theme emphasizing “KYC – Your First Step to Safe Banking.” The campaign underlines that KYC is more than a regulatory requirement; it is a crucial step toward building a safe and trustworthy banking system.

The week’s inauguration took place at Imperial Hall, Classic Grande, Imphal. The programme included addresses by the Chief General Manager of RBI Imphal, the Director of Institutional Finance, Government of Manipur, and the General Manager of NABARD Regional Office. Financial Literacy Week posters were launched, and a panel discussion on KYC, Central KYC (CKYC), account hygiene, and financial discipline highlighted the objectives of the campaign.

As part of the awareness drive, RBI Imphal is organizing a Cyclothon in Imphal on February 10 to promote safe banking practices and financial discipline. A Shumang Leela performance will also be staged in Moirang Block, Bishnupur District, to convey key messages of the campaign in an engaging and culturally resonant manner.

Through these initiatives and collaboration with banks and other stakeholders, RBI aims to reinforce that KYC is a vital first step toward secure banking, while continuing financial literacy efforts throughout the year.
