In a display of community support, the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Bishnupur District Branch on Friday brought relief to struggling families in Thanga Assembly Constituency by distributing essential items, including blankets and hygiene kits, to those most in need.
The initiative, spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner, Bishnupur Lourembam Bikram who also presides as the President of IRCS Bishnupur District Branch, aimed to uplift households living below the poverty line.
Chairman Dr. W. Gulapi shared that the outreach was meticulously planned, with volunteers mobilised across villages like Keibul, Khordak, Nongmaikhong, Sendra, Ithing, and Thanga Naching.
“This drive was not just about providing material aid but delivering hope to families battling extreme hardship, including widows and marginalised groups,” he said.
