Announcing a formal entry into the political landscape of Manipur, a new regional political party christened as ‘the Democratic People’s Front’ (DPF) has been launched in Imphal, holding its first convention today. The DPF intends to debut its electoral contest in 2027 with at least 30 seats from the total 60 Assembly constituencies of Manipur.

The newly formed regional party held its first public convention at GM Hall in Imphal, with the theme “The Voice of Manipur — Empowering People for Integrity and Prosperity,” and outlined its roadmap ahead of the state assembly elections. Promising to prioritize people-centric development and regional integrity, the DPF seeks to galvanize grassroots support as it gears up for its electoral debut.

Addressing a packed audience, DPF President Dr. Narengbam Rajivkumar declared the party’s intention to contest at least 30 constituencies, positioning the DPF as a credible regional force aiming to bridge governance gaps and address the pressing needs of the people.
