Relief Camp Residents Among Hundreds Benefiting from BABINA Hospital’s Free Skin Camp

BABINA Hospital today concluded its week-long Free Skin Health Camp, organised as part of activities marking the hospital’s first foundation day on 3 August 2025.

The camp, held on 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 August 2025, was led by Dr. Karam Lokendro, MD, Senior Consultant Dermatologist of BABINA Hospital, and drew a strong public response. Each day began at 2:30 pm and continued until all pre-booked patients were examined, with participation strictly limited to fifty patients per day to ensure personalised care.

In addition to free consultations, attendees received a fifty per cent discount on necessary laboratory investigations and a twenty per cent discount on applicable procedures, valid for one-time use at BABINA Hospital establishments. Registered patients also received follow-up benefits as part of the programme.

As part of its outreach effort, the hospital also extended the service to internally displaced persons from Moreh and Churachandpur who are currently taking shelter at the Alternate Housing Complex relief camp in Langol Game Village. These individuals were picked up from the relief camp and brought to the hospital to receive free skin health consultations and other benefits available under the camp.

Over the course of the seven days, the camp served a total of 270 patients. A total of five procedures were performed, eighteen laboratory tests were conducted, and twenty-seven procedures were booked for follow-up treatment. Many participants took the opportunity to address longstanding skin concerns and receive professional guidance from a senior specialist.

Speaking at the conclusion of the camp, Dr. Karam Lokendro described the experience as deeply rewarding, highlighting the importance of preventive skin health and timely medical intervention. “It has been a fulfilling experience to serve so many patients and help them address their skin health needs. This initiative is just one of the ways BABINA Hospital is committed to community well-being,” he said.
