In a major step toward improving access to government services for displaced individuals, a three-day workshop began today in Bishnupur to assist relief camp residents in availing essential documents and welfare schemes directly through Common Service Centres (CSCs).
The initiative, spearheaded by the District Administration Bishnupur and organized by the Department of Information Technology (DIT), aims to bridge service gaps for those residing in relief camps by offering support for obtaining Domicile, ST, SC, OBC, and Income Certificates. The workshop also provides assistance with Aadhaar enrolment and corrections where possible, as well as grievance redressal.
The program is being conducted subdivision-wise. On the first day, the workshop was held in relief camps located at Leimaram Government High School, Leimaram SC Girls Hostel, and Thambal Marik College for Nambol Sub-Division.
The second day, July 23, will cover relief camps at the Old DC Complex Bishnupur and Mangolnganbi College, Ningthoukhong, for Bishnupur Sub-Division. The final day, July 24, will see the workshop conducted at Moirang College and Santhong Community Hall for Moirang Sub-Division.
The workshop is being supervised by District Informatics Officer Keisham Jayabati Devi, with CSC operators reporting to District Manager, DIT, Prasanta Oinam.
Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam urged all camp residents to participate actively, emphasizing that the workshop directly addresses earlier requests raised during her visits to the camps, where many residents reported difficulties in filling forms and traveling to CSCs.
This initiative is expected to significantly ease access to vital services and bring timely government support to those most in need.
