March 25, 2025: Altogether, representatives from 16 political parties in Manipur came together under one roof to stress collectively on the issue of the pending delimitation exercise (of electoral constituencies), which was earlier directed by the Supreme Court to be exercised within four months.
Except for BJP and Congress, representatives of all political parties held the meeting at the NPP office in Imphal, located at Naoremthong, on Tuesday, which began at 2:30 PM. The discussions primarily centered on concerns regarding the proposed changes in constituency boundaries and their potential impact on political representation in Manipur. The political parties present at the meeting are expected to submit a collective resolution to the concerned authorities, advocating for an impartial and just delimitation process.
The parties that attended the meeting include the Naga People’s Front (NPF), Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)], Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)], The Communist Party of India (CPI), NPP, Shiv Sena (SS), Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP), Republican Party of India (Athawale) [RPI(A)], Manipur People’s Party (MPP), All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) [SS (UBT)], All India Forward Bloc (AIFB), and Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) [NCP (SP)].
