In a move to prepare the town for the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations, the District Administration of Senapati organized a comprehensive cleanliness drive across the Mini Secretariat Complex and several prominent public locations on Wednesday.
The initiative aimed at improving sanitation and visual appeal in important areas, including the Astro Turf ground, banking institutions, the multi-level parking facility, and various public thoroughfares. Senior officials, department heads, and office staff took part in the drive, cleaning their respective office buildings and adjoining areas.
The designated zones included approach roads, entrance gates, waiting sheds, gardens, and surrounding open spaces. Activities carried out during the drive involved sweeping, clearing of overgrown vegetation, collection of plastic litter, and systematic disposal of waste using garbage collection vehicles.
The cleanliness campaign forms part of the district administration’s broader effort to create a hygienic and orderly environment for the national celebration, while also promoting a culture of cleanliness and civic duty among government employees and the general public.
