In a significant leap towards digital healthcare, the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, has introduced a series of new patient-friendly digital services, allowing patients to book OPD appointments online from the comfort of their homes and reducing the hassle of long queues at the hospital.
Patients can now conveniently schedule their OPD visits through the Central Government’s Online Registration System (ORS) by logging on to www.ors.gov.in. Once registered, a unique Appointment ID is generated, which can be presented at the OPD counter to obtain the consultation slip, streamlining the entire registration process and saving valuable time.
Adding to the ease, RIMS has introduced a “Scan & Share” system at its OPD premises. Patients simply scan a displayed QR code using their mobile phones and wait for their token number to be called on a digital screen, eliminating the need to stand in line.
To use this feature, patients are required to have an Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID. RIMS has set up an ABHA ID Creation Counter for those who have not yet enrolled, and registration is also available via the ABHA mobile application.
