Renowned international fashion designer Robert Naorem hosted Fashion Tourism 2026 today, aiming to promote Manipur’s handloom and textile heritage, as well as the state’s tourism potential.
The event witnessed the participation of around 40 male models from across the country, highlighting Manipur as an emerging hub for fashion and creative talent.
Addressing the media on the sidelines of the gathering, Robert Naorem said the initiative is designed to promote Manipur’s iconic Loktak Lake, the state’s famous freshwater lake, by seamlessly blending fashion with tourism.
He also underlined the importance of widening career choices for youth, stating that professions are not limited to doctors and engineers, and that fashion and modelling are also strong career options.
Highlighting regional achievements, Naorem said several models from Manipur have brought laurels to the state and the entire Northeast, making their mark on national and international platforms.
He further assured aspiring models that he would personally guide and mentor those who choose modelling as a career.
