The RPI (A) National Secretary Maheswar Thounaujam met the Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram, at his residence in New Delhi and submitted comprehensive data and reports advocating the restoration of Meetei/Meitei to the Scheduled Tribe list.
The Minister also showed empathy towards the cause and assured his support, committing to discuss it further with his ministry, according to RPI (A) Maheswar’s post on X.
The RPI (A) National Secretary also highlighted the President’s Rule in Manipur and urged the Minister to take proactive steps, leveraging the Centre’s authority to drive this initiative.
