Feb. 16, 2025: Saikhom Lamjing Leima Chanu, who emerged as the winner of the reality show Eikhoigi Saklon on Manipur Folk Music, aired by Doordarshan Kendra Imphal, was honoured today at the Meitei Culture Research Centre (MMCRC) in Imphal.
The felicitation ceremony, which was a celebration of her outstanding achievement, featured a vibrant performance by the students of Dawn Public High School.
The event was graced by prominent figures, including Nongmaithem Nandakumar Singh, Director of AIR Imphal; Bidyavati Senjam, Vice President of the Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board; Y. Opendro Meitei, Founder and Principal of Dawn Public High School; Salam M. Shivadutta Luwang, Member Secretary of the Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board; and K. Ibomcha Meeteina, Senior Member of the Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board.
In her speech, Saikhom Lamjing Leima Chanu credited her teachers and gurus for her success in the reality show, which aired for one and a half years.
She emphasised the crucial role that educators and mentors played in shaping her talent and guiding her through the competition. “It is because of their unwavering support and guidance that I was able to reach this stage,” she said.
