March 12, 2025: The District Administration of Thoubal has organized a sales event at the Counting Hall of DC Thoubal Complex, where inmates from various relief camps showcased a wide range of products.
The event saw the sale of various items, including home decor, candles, leis, office supplies, mobile bags, carry bags, and stationery, with 15 stalls set up for display.
The event, which was a collaborative effort by the District Administration, aimed to provide a platform for the displaced persons (IDPs) to sell products they created, allowing them to earn from their skills.
Over ₹1 lakh was raised through the sales, a significant achievement for the IDPs involved.
During the event, DC Thoubal, Ahanthem Subhash, acknowledged the resilience of the inmates and highlighted the support provided by the District Administration in skill development training.
He further stated that the training programs offered to the inmates were designed to help them develop their skills and create products for sale, ensuring their economic empowerment.
The initiative comes in the wake of the relief efforts following the violence in the region, with many people from areas like Moreh, Churachandpur, Napat, Sugnu, and Serou being displaced. The DC Thoubal extended gratitude to the buyers who had made the sales event successful.
