Imphal, Dec 9 — Residents of Sandangkhong have demanded a change in the Head Master-in-Charge of Pinjabati Aided High School, claiming the current arrangement is unsuitable and urging the authorities to appoint a qualified teacher to the post.
The demand was raised during a meeting at Ebudhou Wangbrel Community Hall in Wangoo Sandangkhong, Kumbi Assembly Constituency, Bishnupur district. The discussion was jointly organised by local clubs and Meira Paibi organisations of the area.
Social worker A. Priyokumar, addressing the gathering, noted that despite the availability of a qualified RR-substitute teacher at the school, the Education Department and ZEO Bishnupur Zone-IV continue to retain Md. Abdulla Khan as Head Master-in-Charge. He appealed to the authorities to review the matter and take corrective action.
Priyokumar added that four clubs and Meira Paibi groups have resolved to work collectively for the improvement of the school. Emphasising the need for accountability, he stated that teachers must prioritise students’ welfare and refrain from interfering with the School Management Committee. He also stressed that the school should operate transparently and avoid any form of family influence or internal politics.
