The Sangai Run-2025 was successfully flagged off this morning from Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, with nearly 1,500 athletes joining the three race categories (5 km, 10 km and 25 km), signalling strong community enthusiasm even as the state faces mounting calls to boycott the upcoming Manipur Sangai Festival.
Commissioner N. Ashok Kumar led the flag-off, with celebrated Olympians and Padma Shri awardees adding star presence to the event. Finishers were felicitated with medals and cash prizes, marking a spirited prelude to the festival.
