Chandel, November 17: As part of the nationwide commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Sardar @150 Padyatra–Unity March was also held in Chandel district on Monday under the theme “Ek Bharat – Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”
The programme took place at the Model Residential School located at Mantripantha under Chandel Block.
The event, organised by the Sardar @150 Padyatra–Unity March 2025 Organizing Committee, Chandel District, was attended by MLA Chandel SS Olish as the chief guest, DC Chandel L. Nandakumar as the president, ADC Chandel Firoz Khan, SDO Chandel Anunay Anand, CMO Chandel Dr. Joyson Mathew, DFO Chandel N. Munal, DAO Chandel Sp. Lovejoy, and Sk. Angshel as the main programme host.
The Unity March, led by MLA SS Olish, started from Model Residential School, Mantripantha and proceeded up to United College, Lambung.
Delivering the chief guest’s speech, SS Olish emphasized that the message of unity envisioned by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel should be understood and upheld by the younger generation. She stated that India has grown stronger by bringing people together as one, and this spirit of unity must be understood and respected by all. She further stressed that parents and elders must guide children to become good individuals with strong moral values so they can grow into responsible citizens in the future.
