SBI Maram Branch Manager Piku Chalai Wins SBI Chairman’s Club Campaign Award 2024–25 — First from Northeast India

Senapati, October 16: In a proud moment for the Northeast, K. Piku Chalai, Branch Manager of SBI Maram, has been honoured with the SBI Chairman’s Club Award 2024–25 under the “Yes I Can Change” campaign category. The award ceremony was held in Mumbai, recognizing outstanding contributions by SBI employees across India.

A native of Emesiiphro Village in Senapati district, the 39-year-old Piku Chalai is the first recipient from the Northeastern states to receive this prestigious honour. The award acknowledges his tireless and innovative efforts in promoting the “Yes I Can Change” campaign across his various postings.

The recognition includes a citation, cash incentive, and a family trip to the iconic Taj Hotel, Mumbai. Only five SBI employees from across the country were selected for this year’s honour, with Piku representing the entire Northeast region.

Piku, the youngest brother of Senior IAS officer Moses Chalai, currently Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, began his SBI career at the Lairouching Branch, where he transformed the office with creative décor and a customer-friendly atmosphere. Later, at the Senapati Branch, he redesigned the branch entrance and waiting area with a traditional touch, creating a warm and people-centric environment.

Instituted in 2022, the Chairman’s Club Award under the “Yes I Can Change” campaign celebrates exceptional creativity and leadership among SBI employees. Piku Chalai’s achievement marks a milestone for the Northeast and stands as an inspiration for young banking professionals in the region.
