Considering the situation and subsequent incidents of landslides in various parts of Manipur, all the schools in the state, including central, private, government-aided, and unaided schools, will continue to shut down till the 17th of September, according to the order notified by the Education (S), Government of Manipur.
Due to incessant rain for the past four days, many of the low-lying areas in the valley district after the Iril River breaches, including Kshetrigao, Mayang Imphal in Imphal East, and the Yairipok areas of Thoubal, are still knee-deep.
So far, no casualties have been reported, though one person has been reported missing in Imphal East. Authorities have opened relief camps across the valley to shelter displaced families.
