The programme was graced by eminent critic and translator N.G. Iboton Singh as Chief Guest, while Ph. Brajamuhini Devi, President of Sea Waves Manipur, presided over the function. The Guests of Honour were noted literary personalities including Nahakpam Biren Singh, writer, artiste and poet; Y. Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Raheijuddin Sheikh, Secretary of Sea Waves Manipur, spoke on the vision and journey of the organisation since its establishment in 2003. He said the association was founded with the objective of creating poetry, short stories and novels in English rooted in local culture, thereby presenting Manipur’s rich literary heritage to a global readership.

Highlighting the group’s publishing legacy, Dr. Sheikh said Sea Waves Manipur has brought out an anthology almost every year since its inception. He traced the journey from the maiden anthology Beyond (Poems), released on January 11, 2004, followed by Torrents (2005), Crystals (2006), Thunder (2007), Delta (2008), Wind in Reeds (2009), Sobbing (Short Stories, 2010), Untrodden Lane (2018), Peewits (Short Stories, 2019), Moth (2021), Forlorn (2024) and Flicker (2025). He noted that Flicker, released on November 16, 2025, was dedicated to the loving memory of M. Rajendra Singh, an icon of Sea Waves Manipur, who passed away on September 29, 2025.

Looking ahead, Dr. Sheikh announced that the 2026 anthology will be titled Falcon and is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026. Dr. Moirangthem Priyobrata Singh will serve as Chief Editor, while Thoithoi O’ Cottage will be the Editor for the forthcoming edition.

The felicitation ceremony was followed by a Poets’ Meet, during which 25 poets presented their original works. The selected poems will be published in the upcoming Falcon anthology.
