Security forces, during an area domination exercise and search operation in the New Keithelmanbi area of Kangpokpi district, recovered 12 rifles, 13 explosive items, and live ammunition on Tuesday. The recovery was made between Boljang and Pholjang villages in the Kangpokpi area of Manipur.
The seized arms include one 5.56mm INSAS rifle, one .303 rifle, five bolt action rifles, three single barrel rifles, and two pull mechanism rifles. In addition, the recovered items include three rubber bullets, ten 5.56mm INSAS live rounds, two tube launchers, one 2-inch mortar HE shell, thirty 7.62mm blank rounds, one 5.56mm INSAS rifle magazine, one 5.56mm INSAS LMG magazine, and one handheld radio set with a charger.
