March 30, 2025: In two separate search operations conducted in Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts of Manipur, the security forces recovered 8 weapons, 4 hand grenades, ammunition, country-made mortars, and other items on Sunday.
From Thangjing Hill forest in Churachandpur District, the security forces recovered one (1) country-made rifle, one (1) bolt-action rifle, one (1) .22 pistol, one (1) country-made mortar (Pompi – 6 ft.), one (1) country-made mortar (Pompi – 5 ft.), one (1) country-made mortar (Pompi – 4 ft.), one (1) locally made hand grenade, one (1) helmet, one (1) wireless set, one (1) wireless set charger, one (1) HE bomb, ten (10) rounds of 5.56 mm live ammunition, twelve (12) empty cases of 7.62×39 mm, four (4) empty cases of 7.62×45 mm, and 500 gm of gunpowder.
From the general area of Chagoubung in Kangpokpi District, the forces recovered one (1) country-made 9 mm pistol, four (4) country-made single-barrel bolt-action rifles, twenty (20) rounds of 12-bore cartridge live ammunition, twenty (20) rounds of 7.62 mm live ammunition, one (1) locally made cannon (Pumpi), and three (3) locally made hand grenades.
