March 2, 2025: In the continued exercise of a search operation and area domination at the fringes of Imphal West district, the security forces have recovered 9 weapons, including an INSAS LMG and an AK-56 with ammo, and 5 hand grenades from the Sairemkhul area, under Lamshang Police Station, in Imphal West District on Saturday.
According to Manipur Police, the recovered items include 01 (one) 5.56 mm INSAS LMG with one magazine loaded with 20 (twenty) rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition, 01 (one) AK-56 rifle, 01 (one) SLR rifle with one magazine loaded with 12 (twelve) rounds, 01 (one) SLR rifle with one magazine loaded with 10 (ten) rounds, 01 (one) SLR rifle with one magazine loaded with 8 (eight) rounds, 01 (one) SMG 9 mm CARBINE 1A1 with one magazine loaded with 8 (eight) rounds, 01 (one) .303 rifle with one magazine loaded with 5 (five) rounds, and 01 (one) DBBL (gun of Standard Gun Works).
Other items include 04 (four) HE No. 36 hand grenades without detonators along with 4 (four) arming rings, 01 (one) Chinese hand grenade wrapped with black cellotape, 02 (two) camouflage helmets, 03 (three) BP vests, 04 (four) BP plates, 01 (one) camouflage magazine pouch, and 01 (one) khukri (knife).
