March 24, 2025: In a search operation conducted at L. Phaikot area under Leimakhong Police Station of Kangpokpi District yesterday, the security forces have recovered three rifles, including one INSAS Rifle (Mod butt) with a magazine, one .303 Rifle with a magazine, and one SLR Rifle with a magazine.
Meanwhile, in another separate operation from Awaching under Porompat Police Station of Imphal East District, the police have recovered one (1) 2” Mortar, one (1) .32 Pistol with a magazine, two (2) 36 Hand Grenades, twenty (20) 5.56X30 mm live ammunition, one (1) .32 live ammunition, four (4) 9 mm live ammunition, twelve (12) blank cartridges, nine (9) arming rings, seven (7) tube launchers, two (2) SMG Carbine magazines, one (1) INSAS LMG magazine, one (1) BP plate, and one (1) BP helmet.
According to Assam Rifles, operations carried out in both valley and hill areas between March 17-21 have resulted in the recovery of as many as 28 weapons, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), grenades, and ammunition. The said operations were conducted in the districts of Thoubal, Bishnupur, Imphal West, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Tengnoupal, and Jiribam.
