Seat 11A: A Haunting Coincidence Connects Two Plane Crash Survivors

In a twist of fate that feels almost surreal, Thai pop singer and actor Ruangsak Loychusak has revealed an eerie connection between his own brush with death in a 1998 plane crash and the recent Air India disaster in Ahmedabad — the seat number 11A.

Ruangsak, who miraculously survived when Thai Airways Flight TG261 crashed into a swamp in southern Thailand, was seated in 11A that day. The crash killed 101 of the 146 people on board. More than two decades later, news broke that Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, the lone survivor of the Air India tragedy that claimed 241 lives, had also been seated in 11A.

“I had chills when I heard,” Ruangsak shared in a brief but emotional Facebook post. “Survivor of a plane crash in India. He sat in the same seat as me. 11A. My condolences to all those who lost.”

While separated by time, geography, and circumstance, Ruangsak and Vishwash share a unique bond — one defined by survival, shaped by trauma, and marked by a number that now carries an almost mythic resonance: 11A.
