Second CDO Officer Suspended in 24 Hours Over Misconduct

In another disciplinary shake-up within Manipur’s police force, JC No. 843 Jem. Md Amin Khan of the CDO Unit, Thoubal District, has been placed under suspension for “grave misconduct and dereliction of duty,” according to an order issued by Commandant Sarda Laishram of the 7th Battalion Manipur Rifles.

The suspension follows a directive from the DGP, Manipur, dated August 10, 2025.

During the period of suspension, Jem. Md Amin Khan will remain at the 7th MR headquarters in Khabeisoi and will require prior permission to leave. He will receive subsistence allowance as per rules.

This action comes barely hours after the suspension of Inspector Ningthoujam Devdas Singh, Officer-in-Charge of CDO Imphal East, on similar grounds of misconduct.

The twin suspensions have sparked discussions about internal accountability within the state’s elite commando units.
