Feb. 1, 2025: In a joint operation led by the CDO Unit Kakching, WKG-PS, and a platoon of F-Coy, 151 Bn. BSF, security forces conducted a cordon and search operation early this morning in the Langmeidong Mamang Awang Leikai area, based on reliable intelligence from the 46 AR.
During the operation, one active cadre of the banned organization KCP (Taibangnanba) was arrested. The individual, identified as Leisangthem Rajesh Singh (30) alias Malemnganba, son of Leisangthem Kullabidhu Singh from Langmeidong Mamang Awang Leikai, was taken into custody.
Rajesh Singh, currently serving as the group’s Vice Chairman, is believed to be involved in various criminal activities, including extortion, recruitment of cadres, and kidnapping across Kakching, Thoubal, and Imphal West Districts. Authorities also seized three mobile phones from his possession.
The arrested individual and the seized items have been handed over to the concerned police station for further investigation. This operation marks another significant step in the ongoing efforts to combat insurgency and unlawful activities in the region.
Authorities continue to investigate his activities and potential links with other operatives of the banned organization.
