Security forces conducted extensive search operations and area domination exercises across vulnerable and fringe areas in both the hill and valley districts of Manipur. The move comes as part of efforts to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of residents in sensitive regions.
To facilitate the movement of essential commodities, authorities successfully ensured the passage of 269 vehicles along National Highway 2 (NH-2) and 196 vehicles along National Highway 37 (NH-37). Stringent security arrangements were put in place, particularly in vulnerable zones, with security convoys deployed to escort vehicles through sensitive stretches of the highways.
In a further bid to tighten security, a total of 110 Nakas and checkpoints were set up across various districts. These were strategically placed in both hill and valley areas to monitor and prevent any unlawful activities. According to officials, no individuals were detained during these checks.
The security measures underline the administration’s commitment to maintaining peace and ensuring uninterrupted movement of goods across the state.
