Security forces conducted intensive search operations and area domination exercises in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts. The operations aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the region amidst ongoing tensions.
During the operation at Moltincham village under Sugnu Police Station in Kakching District, a significant cache of arms and ammunition was recovered. Items seized include one Self-Loading Rifle (SLR), two Single Barrel Guns, one Bolt Action Rifle, four Pumpis, two No. 36 High Explosive (HE) Grenades, an empty SLR magazine, and an empty INSAS magazine.
Additionally, two bore cartridges, five live rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, thirteen empty cases of 7.62 mm rounds, two 51 mm mortar covers, two tube launchers, four tear gas shells (SN), three stun shells, two tear gas shells (CS), two 2-inch smoke shells, and two 2-inch para shells were also recovered.
Other items found at the site included one bulletproof vest, one helmet, one blue tarpaulin, and one besan (gram flour) bag.
Security forces have intensified vigilance and are continuing operations to ensure peace and prevent unlawful activities in the region.
