Security Forces Recover Arms and Explosives in Chairel Khunou Hill Range

Jan. 30, 2025: A joint operation conducted by the CDO Unit Kakching, Wangoo Police Station, and 46 Assam Rifles (F-Coy) led to the recovery of a significant cache of weapons and explosives in the foothills of Chairel Khunou Hill Range on Thursday morning.

Acting on reliable information received from 46 AR, the combined teams carried out a search operation from 7:50 am to 8:35 am.

The items were found in a secluded area, well-hidden near a cement bag. They include one assault rifle (without body number or registration), one 9mm pistol with an empty magazine, and a 5kg IED.

Additionally, two .36 HE grenades, one smoke shell (CS), one tear smoke grenade, one PEK stick with a fuse and detonator, and a three-meter wire were found. Also recovered were a helmet, a bulletproof vest, jungle boots, two .303 empty cases, one blank cartridge, a cement bag, and a blue plastic bag.

Following the recovery, a case has been filed at Wangoo Police Station, and investigations are underway.
