In a major crackdown against drug trafficking, security forces intercepted a vehicle carrying 3.5 kg of heroin along with unaccounted cash of nearly Rs. 99 lakh from T. Khullen village in Kangpokpi district of Manipur.
The operation, conducted jointly by Senapati Police and 112 and 94 CRPF, led to the arrest of four individuals, including three women who were transporting the items in the vehicle.
The arrested persons are S. Poubinah Teinamei (31), PF Adaphro (34), and S. Boibina (29), all from T. Khullen, Kangpokpi district, and Lungdinibou Thiumei (52) of Khundong Khunkhaiba, Tamenglong district.
The seized items include 273 (two hundred seventy-three) soap cases of contraband heroin weighing approximately 3.5 kg, unaccounted cash amounting to Rs. 99,09,850/- (ninety-nine lakh nine thousand eight hundred fifty), seven mobile phones, and two four-wheelers (a DI vehicle and a Hyundai Creta).
