Security forces arrested one self-styled Commander-in-Chief of CKMA (Chin Kuki Mizo Army) from S. Munuam Village in Churachandpur District along with arms, ammunition, and cash on Wednesday.
The arrested person, identified as Paokholen Guite of P. Mongjang Village, Churachandpur, is also involved in trafficking drugs and weapons across the Indo-Myanmar border for non-SoO groups such as UKNA (United Kuki National Army), according to police.
From his possession, police also recovered 02 (two) AK-47 rifles; 02 (two) AK-47 magazines; 31 (thirty-one) 7.62 AK-47 rounds; 150 (one hundred fifty) 7.62 SLR/LMG rounds; cash amount of Rs. 1,00,000/- (one lakh); 01 (one) bulletproof pouch; 01 (one) four-wheeler, Hyundai Creta bearing regd. no. 24 BH 0676B; and 02 (two) mobile phones.
