The Deputy Commissioner of Senapati, Mamoni Doley, flagged off the Senapati Barak Half Marathon this morning at Astro Turf Senapati, marking the curtain-raiser for the upcoming 4th Edition of the State Barak Festival 2025. This year’s marathon was held under the theme “Run for Harmony.”
The event was organised as part of the Barak Festival in collaboration with the District Administration, Senapati Police, Indian Red Cross Society, and the District Medical Department.
Close to 1,000 participants took part across the three race categories—5 km, 10 km, and 21 km. Winners and runners-up in each category received medals and cash awards, with all prizes sponsored by the State Bank of India under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. Participants also received event T-shirts and medals.
The marathon aimed to promote fitness, gratitude, community bonding, and a renewed connection with nature as part of the broader festival celebrations.
