Senapati Farmers Receive Seeds and Agricultural Inputs for 2026-27 Crop Season

SENAPATI, June 8: In a move aimed at strengthening agricultural productivity and improving farmers’ livelihoods, Deputy Commissioner of Senapati Dharun Kumar S distributed agricultural seeds and farm inputs to farmers at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex on Monday.

The distribution programme, organised by the District Agriculture Office for the 2026-27 crop year, provided farmers with maize, pea and paddy seeds, knapsack sprayers and locally produced vermicompost.

Speaking on the occasion, Dharun Kumar stressed the need to ensure that eligible farmers receive the benefits available under various government welfare schemes. He said that modern farming practices, timely interventions and institutional support have the potential to make agriculture more productive and economically rewarding.

The Deputy Commissioner also called for close coordination among government departments, field-level officials and farming communities to ensure effective implementation of agricultural programmes. He expressed confidence that continued support and collective efforts would contribute to the growth of the agriculture sector and the overall development of the district.

District Agriculture Officer Lavei James said the distribution was intended to support agricultural development and improve farm productivity across Senapati. He noted that the programme experienced delays due to logistical and transportation challenges but assured that the department is working to ensure that all beneficiaries receive assistance through various agricultural and developmental initiatives.
