Senapati Gears Up for Civil Defence Mock Drill ‘Operation Abhyaas’ on May 16

A district-level Civil Defence Mock Drill named Operation Abhyaas will be held at the Mini Secretariat Complex, Senapati, on May 16 at 10:30 AM, as part of a nationwide exercise under the Civil Defence Rules, 1968. The drill aims to evaluate and strengthen the district’s preparedness and response to hostile attacks.

In preparation, Deputy Commissioner Mamoni Doley, IAS, chaired a coordination meeting today at the DC Conference Hall. The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Kumar Tyagi, IPS, ADC Rang David Kung, SDOs, DLOs, CRPF and Assam Rifles commanders, medical teams, and school representatives.

The DC briefed officials on their responsibilities for the mock drill and emphasized the importance of inter-agency coordination. Activities during the drill will include air raid warnings, public address announcements, emergency sirens, search and rescue operations, casualty evacuation, temporary hospital setups, and evacuation of civilians to bunkers.

The public is urged to remain calm and cooperate fully during the drill, which is entirely simulative and focused on public safety and disaster preparedness.
