Inmates of the Senior Citizens Home for Women, Nungourok Village, spent a creative afternoon crafting tricolour-themed rakhis on Monday in a workshop blending the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign with the spirit of Raksha Bandhan.
The one-day event was organised by the District Social Welfare Office, Tengnoupal, under the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Manipur, in association with the Centre for Development Activities, Wangjing.
District Social Welfare Officer Dangshwa Mathew Maring spoke on the significance of Independence Day, while CDAC Secretary M. Renuka Devi shared the importance of observing Raksha Bandhan. Superintendent Apenao Charanga taught 20 women how to make the patriotic rakhis.
The workshop concluded with a rakhi-making competition, where special prizes were awarded to the winners, leaving the participants inspired and engaged.
