Inaugurating the Senior Citizen Recreation Point at Nagamapal in Imphal, organized by the Imphal Municipal Council, Director of MAHUD, Ngangom Uttam, emphasized the deep cultural roots of the local community. He highlighted that Keithel Ima, the Market Goddess, symbolizes tradition and is a source of blessings for prosperity and unity in society.
Uttam remarked that the goddess continues to guide the economic and social well-being of the region. The newly inaugurated recreation point, part of IMC’s efforts to provide dedicated community spaces for elderly citizens, aims to facilitate recreational activities and social interactions.
Uttam urged the public to uphold the sanctity of local beliefs and honor the goddess, emphasizing the spiritual values that underpin daily life in Manipur. He stated that the initiative reflects the council’s commitment to both heritage and welfare, aligning with these core values.
