JAN 12, 2025 (IMP/TBL): Security Forces have arrested an underground cadre who was involved in the recent bomb blast at Moirang Thana Leikai, Bishnupur District.
According to police, on Sunday, at around 4 pm, a joint team of Commando Unit Kakching and 46 AR arrested an active cadre of the banned organisation KYKL (G-5 group) from the Komnao Makha Leikai area, Kakching District, who was involved in the recent bomb blast at Moirang Thana Leikai, Bishnupur District.
The police report further disclosed that the detainee was identified as Hijam Manichandra Singh (35), son of (L) H. Panchamani Singh of Waikhong Chingdong Leikai, Kakching District, an active cadre of the banned organisation KYKL (G-5).
The police report also said that the arrestee disclosed that he was earlier arrested as a member of KCP (Taibangangba group). After coming out on bail, he joined the organisation KYKL in November 2025 through one Inaobi of Wangoo Maning Sabal for the said organisation. Further, he disclosed that he was physically involved in the hurling of a grenade at M/S Eldas Fuel Station at Moirang Thana Leikai on January 8, 2026, in Bishnupur District, along with Inaobi of Wangoo.
A case has been taken up at Waikhong PS and is under investigation, the police report added.
