MARCH 21, 2026 (IMP): Security forces in Manipur recovered large quantities of arms, ammunition, and explosives from Tengnoupal areas and the Imphal West district of Manipur on Friday.
According to police information, between Loisi village and Saivom village under Tengnoupal district, 29 (twenty-nine) IEDs were recovered: 14 grenades (05 No. 36 hand grenades, 02 Chinese hand grenades, and 07 stun grenades); five electric detonators; 7 electric fuses; 01 each of a locally made single-barrel gun and a .32 mm pistol with a magazine; 42 (forty-two) live rounds of ammunition of different calibres; 2 Motorola radio sets; and 02 (two) magazine pouches.
Meanwhile, from the Lamdeng and Kameng areas of Imphal West district, 15 firearms (11 pistols along with magazines, 2 locally made bolt-action single-barrel guns, and 01 SLR along with 03 magazines) and 85 rounds of ammunition of different calibres (including 03 (three) shells) were recovered. Other items include 01 (one) camouflage helmet, 04 (four) camouflage BP vests, 03 (three) magazine pouches, and 01 (one) green belt.
