In response to yesterday’s bomb explosion near former Deputy Chief Minister Y. Joykumar’s residence at Naoremthong Yumnam Leirak (DC Road), women of the area staged a sit-in protest.
The incident, which occurred around 1:10 PM, saw a low-intensity bomb detonate at a Meira Shang (shed), fortunately causing no injuries but sparking widespread concern.
Expressing deep condemnation, the women’s group gathered at the blast site to demand accountability from authorities regarding the security lapse that allowed such an incident to occur in a densely populated area.
They questioned the motives behind targeting a crowded locality and urged all concerned parties to exercise restraint to prevent future threats to civilian safety.
