March 06, 2026 (IMP): From the total of 958 candidates who cleared the UPSC’s Civil Services Exam 2025, a total of 9 (nine) candidates from the Northeast made it to the prestigious services, of which 6 (six) are from Manipur and 3 (three) are from Assam.
From the region, the tiny state of Manipur has made it to the top with 6 in total, in which Calvin Ginminlien Zou, currently staying in Meghalaya, has secured 135 AIR (All India Rank). Other Manipuris who have made it to the list are Wahengbam Renudhar Singh (Meitei); Th. Vapani John from Senapati district; Rahul Moirangthem; Liangousang Vualnam; and Ningthoujam Rishikant Singh.
And 3 from Assam are Abhigyan Khaund, securing the highest position from the state at All India Rank (AIR) 187; Abhigyan Jyoti Bora, securing AIR 570; and Bhaswata Saikia, obtaining AIR 777.
At the national level, Anuj Agnihotri topped the examination, followed by Rajeshwari Suve M in second place and Akansh Dhull in third.
