SKTV’s Premchand Brings Glory to Manipur at 3rd Kalyan Barooah Awards

Manipur journalist Kshetrimayum Premchand, Chief Reporter of SKTV News, has been honoured with the Electronic Media Award at the 3rd Kalyan Barooah Awards 2025, announced by the North East Media Forum (NEMF) in association with My Home India.

The annual awards recognise journalists for outstanding reportage on issues concerning the North Eastern region. A five-member jury, comprising former AIR Director General Moushumi Chakrabarty, senior journalists Achinta Bora (PTI), Sandeep Phukan (The Hindu), Sachin Gogoi (BBC), and IIMC Aizawl Regional Director Prof. Shashwati Goswami, screened and evaluated nominations across various categories.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Monalisa Changkija of Nagaland Page for her exceptional and long-standing contribution to North East journalism. In the Print Category, Amal Goswami, Chief Staff Reporter of Dainik Janambhumi, Assam, emerged as the winner, while in the Digital Media Category, Mridul Kumar Handique of Pratidin Digital, Assam, bagged the award.

No entries were received for the Still Photography and Videography categories.

The awards will be presented on December 11, 2025, at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi, coinciding with the birth anniversary of late Kalyan Barooah.
