Smiles for All: Free Dental Health Camp Marks World Oral Health Month in Samurou

In celebration of World Oral Health Month, a dental health camp was organized under the theme “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Mind.” The event was hosted at Samurou by the team from the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry Department, led by Associate Professor Dr. Naorem Nena Devi and Assistant Professor Dr. Ningthoujam Sharna. The camp offered free oral screenings and treatments, including a Pit and Fissure Sealant drive, providing essential dental care to the local community.

During the camp, a total of 60 patients received oral screenings, and simple treatments were provided. Participants were also given free oral health supplies, including toothpaste and toothbrushes, to help maintain good oral hygiene.

The dental camp was part of the ongoing awareness campaign for World Oral Health Month, which aims to educate the public on the importance of maintaining oral health for overall well-being.
