Social Awareness and Action to Neutralize Pneumonia Successfully

Feb. 7, 2025: The District Administration of Imphal West, in collaboration with the Health and Education Departments, launched the Social Awareness and Action to Neutralize Pneumonia Successfully (SAANS) campaign to raise awareness about pneumonia prevention and treatment for children.

The campaign was kicked off at Kombirei Hall by Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West, M. Rajkumar, along with the Chief Medical Officer, Imphal West, and other staff members.

Dr. Keshorjit Yumnam, District Nodal Officer for Child Health in Imphal West, outlined the objectives of the campaign, emphasizing its focus on reducing pneumonia-related deaths in children under five.

The campaign aims to educate parents and communities about pneumonia prevention, early detection, and the importance of seeking timely medical intervention.

Dr. Keshorjit highlighted that the SAANS campaign is vital in improving the health and well-being of children, ensuring that pneumonia can be controlled and prevented effectively in the district.
