Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, Th. Satyabrata Singh, has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of La Ganesan, former Governor of Manipur and sitting Governor of Nagaland, who passed away on August 15, 2025, at the age of 80.
In his condolence message, the Speaker described La Ganesan as not merely a constitutional head but “a pillar of empathy and grace” for the people of Manipur. He noted that although Ganesan’s final chapter was written in Nagaland, his bond with Manipur remained unbroken.
The Speaker further said that the former Governor’s presence in the state was marked by humility and respect, and his passing leaves behind “a silence that echoes with gratitude and sorrow.” He extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones.
