Security Forces Recover Arms and Arrest PREPAK Cadres in Manipur
Imphal, Nov 1, 2025: State Police, in its operation, has recovered several arms and ammunition from various locations in Imphal today.
In a joint operation conducted in the general area between Luwangsangol and Phaileng villages under Gamnom Sapermeina Police Station, Kangpokpi district, the forces recovered the following items: 05 local-made bolt action single barrel guns, 11 cartridges, 02 Baofeng wireless sets, 03 pairs each of combat shoes and sneakers, 02 military belts, and several combat jackets and other apparels.
In a separate operation, an active cadre of PREPAK, identified as Pebam Nikesh alias Nanao alias Mitlang alias Poirei (28) of Kwakeithel Mayai Koibi Ningthoujam Leikai under Lamphel Police Station, Imphal West district, was arrested from his residence. Security personnel seized one mobile phone with two SIM cards, along with his PAN and Aadhaar cards.
Similarly, another PREPAK cadre, Oinam Maipak Meetei (48) of Thanga Chingkha Khwairakpam Leikai under Keibul Lamjao Police Station, Bishnupur district, was arrested from his residence. A mobile phone with a SIM card was recovered from him.
Meanwhile, Manipur Police seized 480 beer cans worth approximately ₹72,000 during routine checking at Leingangpokpi Police Outpost under Jiribam Police Station, Jiribam district.
